How This Speed Test Works
Unlike simulated speed tests that guess your bandwidth, this tool performs real HTTP data transfers to Cloudflare's global edge network — the same infrastructure that powers millions of websites worldwide.
Latency (Ping)
Sends 10 lightweight requests to the nearest edge node to compute average round-trip time and variance.
Download Speed
Streams 25 MB using the Fetch API. Speed is sampled every 200 ms and averaged using a trimmed-mean algorithm.
Upload Speed
POSTs 10 MB to an upload endpoint via XHR, measuring throughput to calculate your sustained upload capacity.
For the most accurate results: connect via Ethernet, close other browser tabs, and pause downloads or streaming before running the test.
